Arsenal & United In Dentinho Tug of War

With the off season upon us the transfer window is already a bustling hive of activity with several high profile, big money deals in the offing, but it seems that Arsenal & Manchester United are both touting for the services of the relatively unknown Brazilian starlet Dentinho.

A product of the Corinthians youth system, the 20-year old striker has been tracked by Arsene Wenger for the last two seasons, but it now seems that Sir Alex Ferguson is also ready to table a bid for the Samba hotshot, after taking compatriots Rodrigo Possebon, and the Da Silva twins to Old Trafford in recent seasons.

Ferhat Ciftci, the agent of Dentinho, has highlighted the interest from not just Arsenal and Manchester United, but also from other high profile teams in Europe.

“At the moment we have Manchester United, Arsenal, Juventus and Real Madrid in for the player. They (Corinthians) want too much money for Dentinho, so the club who are willing to pay that kind of money will land the player.”

Although Ciftci refused to reveal Corinthians’ exact valuation of the strike partner of Ronaldo, he moved on to suggest that the player’s preferred destination would be England.

“He wants to play in the Premier League. It doesn’t make a difference if it is Arsenal or Manchester United.”
