FA Cup semi final Preview

With Rafa Benitez and Sir Alex Ferguson trading comments, the aftermath of the Hillsborough memorial and the Premier League heating up the back pages. My focus would be on Arsenal progressing to the FA Cup final.

With the great atmosphere at Wembley, the red and blue balloons flying into the Wembley sky and my nerves on edge, things look set for a great game.

Cesc Fabregas and John Terry will lead the both sides out tomorrow looking for a chance to claim their first trophy of the season.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may have to rearrange his defence again for the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Bacary Sagna remains a doubt due to illness and now Keiran Gibbs is also doubtful with a slight groin problem.

With Didier Drogba or Nicolas Anelka waiting to cause the unfamiliar back line problems, the Gunners will be looking to cause a few problems of their own.

Scoring 3 and conceding none in midweek, will only improve the North London club confidence. With the big names back from injury and hitting form, Chelsea’s will be conscious of conceding especially after letting in 4 on Tuesday.

The Gunners will be playing their 408th match in the competition; the Blues their 351st. Arsenal have won 214, Chelsea 175 and should they not let in a goal, Wenger’s club would be keeping their 150th clean sheet in the history of the competition.

Chelsea welcome back John Terry from suspension, which will only improve the blues fortunes. Jose Boswinga is also in contention after returning to training.

Chelsea come into this match revitalised after the arrival of Guus Hidink and look to give the Dutchman a perfect leaving present, to go off in his cushty job with Russian national team.

With my Arsenal shirt on down the pub, I certainly hope that it’s me buying the drinks in to rub in their faces come the final whistle.

“My focus would be on Arsenal progressing to the FA Cup final” is that some sort of sick joke. Another waste of time and you know deep down that the true reds will come away with a quintruple.
