Romanov: Csaba can “convince me”

Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov has targeted being “involved in the business of the team less and less often”. Does this mean he is still involved in team affairs? Maybe this is what manager Csaba Laszlo meant by “together” during his appointment.

“Csaba has plenty of experience working in the football world that allows him to work with me and convince me with a lot of positions where the manager wants to do it his way.
He can convince me of that and I can take that on board.”

This seems slightly worrying that Romanov is here admitting he still has a say in certain areas regarding the team, however, Laszlo could be the man to show him the error of his ways. Only time will tell if Laszlo has full control, as was the case with his predecessor Stephen Frail. It was suggested that Frail had full control over team affairs but this turned out to be false.

Meanwhile, an Extraordinary General Meeting took place this morning at Tynecastle with around one hundred shareholders in attendance. They voted unanimously to go ahead with the ‘dept for equity’ scheme, revealed at the start of the month, which converts £12m of the club’s dept into equity, relieving the club of interest payments of around £600,000-a-year.
