Leicester v Watford – Preview

Tomorrow afternoon sees two on form teams squaring off against each other at the ground of Vicarage Road. Leicester and Watford have started the season strongly as both teams are in the top ten of the Championship. Leicester City are unbeaten at home since September 2008, however they travel away against a tough Watford side unbeaten in five league games. Leicester City striker Matty Fryatt has adapted well with life in the Coca Cola Championship, aswell as Watford striker Danny Graham. Fryatt has scored five league goals so far this season just one goal in front of Graham who has four. This will surely be an entertaining match as both teams will give it their all, as the winner will break into the top six of the Coca Cola Championship.

Watford News
Watford has started the season brightly under the management of former player Malky Mackay, as they currently sit 7th in the Championship. Many pundits, magazines and papers said that Watford would struggle this season as the departures of Tamas Priskin, Tommy Smith and Jobi McAnuff would come as a huge blow to them. However Watford has proved the media wrong so far and without a doubt they could well be in reach for a play-off place this season. New signings Danny Graham and Tom Cleverley have fitted right into the Watford side this season, and both of them players are scoring vital goals.

As for the rest of team midfielder Don Cowie is a great asset to have for the Hornets. Also the defence consists of Lloyd Doyley, Jay Demerit and Adrian Mariappa all of whom has been at Watford for a number of years. This week has also saw the loan signing of former Watford striker Heider Helguson, the striker could well play a big part with Danny Graham up front for the Hornets on Saturday. Watford could well beat Leicester tomorrow afternoon as the threats of Tom Cleverley, Danny Graham, Heider Helguson and Henri Lansbury could all give the Leicester defence problems on Saturday. For team news Watford could well start new loan signing Craig Cathcart in defence. Also Jay Demerit should be available for tomorrow’s clash with Leicester, however Scott Severin is defiantly out for Watford, as he faces a couple of weeks on the sidelines.

Key Man
Tom Cleverley has adapted well with life at Vicarage Road, as the former Leicester loanee scored the winning goal against Plymouth on Tuesday. Cleverley has also received praise from his manager Malky Mackay, as he surely will be the player to watch for the hornets tomorrow.

Leicester News
Leicester like Watford have started well in the Coca Cola Championship this season, as for Leicester they sit in 8th one place behind Watford who are in 7th. Since being crowned Champions of League 1, Leicester are back in the Championship and have started life with a bang. The Foxes still remain unbeaten at home as they have beaten, Swansea, Barnsley and Blackpool at the Walkers Stadium this season. For their away form the Foxes have picked up decent draws against Ipswich and Sheffield United, however they lost against an on form Newcastle side 1-0 at St James Park. Matty Fryatt has already started banging in the goals for Leicester this season, the striker has already scored six goals in 09/10 and possibly he could add to his tally on Saturday.

Leicester City defence has looked solid again this season with, Robbie Neilson, Jack Hobbs, Wayne Brown and Bruno Berner the four who have assisted mostly in defence this season. Also the Centre Midfield pairing of Richie Wellens and Matt Oakley have looked a class act this season. As for Wellens he is defiantly Leicester’s best signing of the summer. For the team news the Foxes could well be without Wayne Brown for tomorrow’s trip to Vicarage Road, therefore fans favourite Alexsander Tunchev will take his place. Also Nicky Adams and Lloyd Dyer will battle it out for a starting place on the left wing. However Stephen Clemence has started training but is nowhere near full fitness yet.

Key Man
Bruno Berner has been one of the most consistent performers in the Leicester team this season. Berner has been good in the tackle and has been getting forward very well. Whoever he is up against whether its Lansbury or Cleverley, Berner will surely prove to be a tough man to break down tomorrow afternoon.
