Fergie’s imminent row with Ronaldo

After publicly stating that he does not care if he angers fans or even his manager Sir Alex Ferguson to get what he wants, Cristiano Ronaldo looks to delay his arrival at Manchester United due to rehabilitation from his foot injury. Ferguson is keen to discuss Ronaldo’s future face-to-face with the want-away, aiming to convince him to honour his contract. Ronaldo was supposed to be due back to Man Utd on the 28th July. However, Portuguese physiotherapist Antonio Gaspar claimed that Ronaldo will not be back to his club before the 4th August.

“These first four weeks he will do the rehabilitation work in my clinic in Lisbon. After the first month, the United doctors will carry out another exam.” - Antonio Gaspar

Although Ronaldo is very keen on a move to Real Madrid, the Madrid club look to have conceded defeat in their pursuit, after they are looking at other options for the winger position. They are reportedly interested in buying Rafael van der Vaart from Hamburg. A move to Real Madrid for Ronaldo after the Dutch winger’s signature is secured would not be logical, as it would mean that he will sit on the bench rather than play all matches for the club.
