Manchester United Vs PSC CSKA Moscow Match Preview


Manchester United aim to make a fourth successive win in the champions league when they take on Russian side CSKA Moscow for second leg group stage match. Ferguson’s men go into the game with confidence after returning to winning ways in the premier league after a 2-0 win to Blackburn rovers. In the first leg of which these two teams met, United beat the army men of Moscow by one goal in the eighty sixth minute by Antonio Valencia.


With newly appointed manager Leonid Slutsky, the army men have adopted a new style of play which resulted in a one goal win over FC Terek (their first win in the campaign). In addition to the army men going into the game with confidence, the red devils will also go into the game with confidence as they won the last time out and in Europe. If United beat Slutsky’s men, the reds will gain qualification.

Having not recovered from calf and knee injuries Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs and Ji Sung Park are defiantly out, Dimitar Berbatov is a doubt due to a knee cap injury. Wayne Rooney is also a doubt as his wife gave birth to his baby son earlier today. Likewise Moscow has also injury concerns with Sekou Oliseh (hip) and Mark Gonzalez (ankle) out and Brazilian striker Guilherme is a doubt. Ferguson’s captain Gary Neville could also be available after serving out his three match ban after being dismissed in United’s carling cup tie against Barnsley

    You were pretty close on the United team, Rooney doesn’t start though.
