Wayne Rooney has recently joined the United’s one hundred club and we look back over his five seasons at Old Trafford and all of his one hundred and five excellent goals in only two hundred and fifty three appearances.

When Wayne Rooney burst on to the scene at Old Trafford, he was criticized by Everton fans for betraying his boyhood for money. Rooney, who arrived at Old Trafford on the final day of the transfer window, became the most expensive teenager when he was snapped up for thirty million. Even though he had many critics, Rooney proved his price tag by scoring an unforgettable hat trick on his debut against Turkish side Fenerbahce in the champions league. After his first season at united, Rooney netted a total of seventeen goals in just forty three games. With a successful first season at Old Trafford, Rooney celebrated his 20th birthday and second season by notching another 19 goals s in just forty eight games for the reds. Rooney, whos third season at Old Trafford was amazing, scored a record twenty three goals for Ferguson’s men giving him fifty nine goals in one hundred and forty six games.

Wayne Rooney, has not only helped united to three successive league title, he was also part of the 2008 champions league winning team and provided four goals for united. Rooney’s first piece of league silverware was in the 2007-08 season when he contributed a record twenty three goals for Ferguson’s men giving him fifty nine goals in one hundred and forty six games. His next seasons, where as successful as before with him scoring eighteen goals in forty three and twenty in forty nine.

Wayne’s career has so far been very successful at united with now one hundred and five goals in two hundred and fifty three games making one of the all time top scorers in uniteds history at only twenty three and his form this season is also as excellent than before with so far with eight goals in fifteen games making him the second top English scorer in the English premiership. Although he has scored one hundred and thirty goals for club and country, Rooney’s talent has not yet peaked so expect to hear much more from this scouser in the coming years.
