Cousins promises big-name signings

Keith Cousins has announced that he is ready to splash the cash as Rushden and Diamonds target a return to the Football League.

The club chairman confirmed there will be more money spent this summer in a bid to build a promotion-chasing squad following last season’s bottom-half finish in the Blue Square Premier.
Cousins said: “I’m not another Max Griggs. But I’m prepared to do everything I can here.
I’ve decided this year we are going to have a real go – a bit of a thrash at the league. Our first two signings give an indication of where we are going. Our ambition is getting back into the League. At the moment we are having conversations with at least eight different players who are high profile for this division. We’ve made a couple of offers. I’ve given the money to Garry Hill so we can try to bring some success back to this club.”
