Youth Cup Semi Final, second leg

Aston Villa youth were beaten 3-2 at Villa Park on Wednesday night to dash their hopes of youth cup glory.

Going into the second leg at 1-1 it was Villa who took an early lead through former Watford forward Harry Forrester.

This was soon cancelled out by two quick fire goals from Rodriguez and Kakuta for the visitors.

Forrester levelled the tie on 61 minutes with a shot from the left hand side.

Adam Phillip raced clear for Chelsea after a Villa defensive√ā¬†error and put the London club back into the lead.

The final ten minutes saw both sides reduced to 10 men with first Chelsea having Sawyer sent off for a foul on Forrester and then Roome was sent off in the final minute for a foul on Adam Phillip.

A crowd of almost 11,000 would not have been happy with the result, but certainly very happy to see another set of promising youngsters coming through the Villa Park academy.
